We’re happy for our friend Guthrie Govan, on the cover Guitar Player magazine (July 2011 issue). Guthrie was the guitarist in Asia from 2001-2006, then with Asia Featuring John Payne until 2008. In 2006 he formed GPS along with John Payne and Jay Schellen, and remains a member of that group. Currently he is recording and touring with his prog-fusion trio Aristocrats.

I am shocked and saddened to inform you that my good friend Andrew Gold had a heart attack and died.
When recording Aura, I was asked who I’d like to write with and my first choice was Andrew. One of my favorite songs of all time was ‘Lonely Boy’. He was a wonderful, talented and kind person.
Andrew came from a big musical family. His father wrote Exodus, an incredible piece of music, and his mother was the voice on may huge movies, for Debra Kerr (The King and I), Natalie Wood (West Side Story) and Audrey Hepburn ( My Fair Lady). He was a huge talent as a performer and songwriter and I feel so privileged to have known him and worked with him. This is a sad day.
